CALDWELL, Idaho -- Emir Kobic scored a pair of goals and Kazuki Murata assisted on a pair of others, as the newly named College of Idaho recorded their most lopsided win in Brian Smith's four years as head coach, stopping Northwest University, 6-1, at Symms Field.

The Coyotes (8-4-1, 5-3-1 CCC) had scored five goals in a match twice before under Smith, but used three goals in each period to put away the Eagles.

Garga Caserta got The C of I on the board quickly, taking a long through-ball from Murata in the fifth minute and planting the ball in the left corner of the net.  Alex Penrod got in the scoring act in the 14th minute, heading home a rebound off a Murata free kick that clanged off the crossbar, to make it 2-0.

Mauricio Both converted a penalty kick in the 22nd minute after a handball in the box to make it 3-0, before NU (5-8, 4-6) got their lone tally on a Brandon Screen goal off a Lonnie Wells feed.

The second half allowed The C of I to use all of their reserves and they cashed in on the playing time.  Scott Ward scored his first goal of the season in the 47th minute after intercepting a ball in the back-third and touching home the score.  Kobic scored his two goals to cap the scoring - a left-footed blast in the 51st minute after touches from Ward and Esteban Cabrera, and a flick in the 87th minute after Michael Delgado touched a pass to Caserta.

The Yotes had all five corner kicks in the match and held a commanding 19-7 edge in shots - as The C of I won their 17th-straight match against the Eagles.

Tomorrow, The C of I hosts Evergreen State at 2 p.m.
