PORTLAND, Ore. - A hotly contested game ended in a tough loss for the Thunderbirds as The College of Idaho earned a 2-1 decision over Cascade in CCC soccer action today at Williams and Smith Field.

Alisha Butler scored her second goal in as many games in the 9th minute to give the T-Birds the early advantage. The goal was assisted by senior Desiree Pino who played her last home contest as a Thunderbird, and was honored for her contributions to the program before the game.

The lead did not hold up however, as the visiting Coyotes found the net twice after the break. Leah Roach ran on to a bouncing deflection and looped nice shot in to the net to tie the game in the 56th minute. At the 80:03 mark, Jamie Reichel made a move at the top of the box and beamed home a shot to provide the game winner.

Cascade pressed forward trying to tie the game in the final 10 minutes, only to see several free kicks turned away by a stout 'Yote defense.

C of I improves to 8-5-3 on the year and 5-2-2 in CCC play. Cascade drops to 8-5-3 overall and 4-3-2 in conference play.
