PORTLAND, Ore.—Led by two first-period goals by Justine Pronovost and second-period scores by Danielle MacBride and Jackie Pronovost, the Concordia University women’s soccer team continued its undefeated conference season with a 4-0 win over Eastern Oregon. With the win, Concordia stretched its winning streak to 11 matches for a 14-2-0 overall record while recording its ninth Cascade Collegiate Conference win in as many chances. Eastern Oregon dropped to 4-9-0 on the season and 3-6-0 in CCC play.

Senior Kali Smith (Gresham, Ore.) earned the team’s 12th shutout of the season while starting in goal for the Cavs, stopping one Mountaineer shot for the win.
Along with Smith, Concordia honored its senior class consisting of Jennifer Hart (Spokane, Wash.), Erin Forge’t (Las Vegas, Nev.), Kerry Lane (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Stephanie Solarek (Port Orchard, Wash.) for their contributions to the program.

“It was a great day all the way around,” Concordia head coach Grant Landy said. “We got the result that we wanted in front of a good crowd and got to play well for our seniors.”

Justine Pronovost (Milwaukie, Ore.) opened the game’s scoring with back-to-back goals via headers. Pronovost scored her first goal after receiving a pass from Caitlin Verhofstadt (Silverdale, Wash.) in the 25th minute and the second following a corner kick taken by Angie Turner (Salem, Ore.) in the 37th minute.

In the second period, a pair of Cavaliers recorded their first goals of the season with Danielle MacBride (McMinnville, Ore.) putting away a loose ball following a Jessica Ramback (Mill Creek, Wash.) shot in the 51st minute and Jackie Pronovost (Milwaukie, Ore.) unleashing on a 40-yard strike which found a place in the upper left of the net in the 70th minute.

Concordia outshot Eastern Oregon 21-2 in the contest and generated a 14-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Cavaliers finish its regular season Wednesday, Oct. 17, when they host Cascade College at The Yard. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.

“With one game we want to finish our goals to stay undefeated in the conference and set ourselves up for the regional tournament,” Landy said. “We will look to keep our momentum going and wait to see what the playoff picture looks like.”
