WPC Avenges Loss to NCC

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Warner Pacific avenged an earlier in the season five match loss to Northwest Christian with a convincing 3-0 (30-18, 30-25, 30-18) win Friday at the C.C. Perry Gymnasium.

The Knights were led by Kara VanZanten with 11 kills but the Knights spread the hitting around with Ann-Erica Whitemarsh getting nine, Leah Gradwohl getting eight and Marcy Oakland putting away 7. Outside of hitting, Oakland claimed two block solos and six block assists for the match. The Knights setter Kayli Anderson had 37 assists.

Northwest Christian was led by the 11 kills of Melissa Bishop. Setting duties were split for the Beacons with Alexandria Jee and Meaghan Hunts assisting on 13 and 10 kills respectively.

Warner Pacific improves to 9-10, 5-9 CCC and has a bye Saturday. The Knights return to action on October 26th as they host Oregon Institute of Technology at 7:00 PM.
