SALEM, Ore. - On Senior Recognition Day, senior Joshua Crain (Olympia, Wash.) scored the Warriors' lone goal, as Corban's men's soccer team lost a heart-breaker to The College of Idaho, 2-1, on Saturday at Sprague High School's brand-new field turf stadium.

Taking advantage of the nice field turf surface, Corban got on the board in the 8th minute when Crain beat a pair of 'Yotes' defenders and cracked a shot from ten yards out into the upper right corner for his 5th goal of the season.

Less than 25 minutes later, The College of Idaho got on the board when Alex Penrod took a pass from Garga Caserta and beat the Warriors' keeper from a yard out. The goal was initially called off, as the sideline official whistled Penrod for a foul only to have the call reversed by the referee after the two conversed on the sideline.

Battling for the remainder of the opening half, neither team cracked its opponents' net therefore resulting in a dead lock heading into halftime.

In the second half, The College of Idaho got the eventual game-winner in the 53rd minute when Caserta sent a free kick from 25-yards out, up over the defense, and onto an awaiting Mauricio Both, who slid onto the ball and put it past Corban's net-minder.

Corban attempted to tie the game on numerous occasions over the final 30-plus minutes, but could not crack the 'Yotes' wall of defense. Senior Quinn Neely (Nelson, New Zealand) and sophomore Mark Mendenhall (Windsor, Calif.) had the Warriors' best scoring opportunities as the pair each had a header close by the goal go wide therefore thwarting any chance that Corban had of registering its second tie of the season against the Caldwell, Idaho-based college.
