Mounties Get Off to Great Start

HERMISTON, Ore - At 5:30 pm Thursday night The Eastern Oregon University Women's basketball team walked onto the court to play a game for the first time this season. Then they proceeded to walk all over the Wolves from Walla Walla University winning the game 92-37.

Playing at Hermiston High School in a home away from home game the Mounties dominated the contested from start to finish. All 12 players got into the the scoring column led by new comer Jenny Fiso's 17. Fiso, a 5'7 junior transfer from Eastern Utah Community College came off the bench to go 6-7 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line. She also added 7 assists and 4 steals in her 26 minutes of action.

Senior Laura Olsen scored 16 points in as many minutes while Sheena Henderson poured in 12 points while pulling down a game high 12 rebounds for the first of what could be many double doubles for the senior this season.

Junior Breana Olson just missed a double double of her own tallying 9 points and 10 rebounds.

The Mountaineers scored 92 points, shooting only 38% from the field. Eastern did pull down a whopping 33 offensive rebounds in the contest while holding The Wolves to an abysmal 26%.

EOU next travels to NCAA Division I Utah Valley State on Friday November 2nd.
