KIRKLAND, WA – Northwest University’s senior Amos Freiheit (Tacoma, WA/Tacoma CC) scored three goals as NU defeated Northwest Christian College, 4-1 in Cascade Conference men’s soccer tonight at Lake Washington Stadium.

Freiheit put Northwest U. (6-12, 5-9 CCC) in the lead 7:22 into the game on a penalty kick after being fouled in the box. Brandon Screen (So., Bremerton, WA/Bellevue CC) followed five minutes later with his goal off an assist by senior Casey Bostock (Sandpoint, ID/N. Idaho College) to put the Eagles up 2-0.

Freiheit got his second goal at the 17:14 mark off a pass from teammate Trevor Uhler (Sr., Bothell, WA/Bothell HS) and completed the hat trick in the second half (68:12) from 2 yards out after Northwest Christian’s goalie missed the ball. Dan Gibson (Sr., Mexico City, Mex.) was credited for the assist. NU outshot NW Christian 23-9.

(Fr., Murietta, CA) scored Northwest Christian’s only goal with 14:12 remaining in the game as he knocked one in to the net from 15 yards out on the right side. NCC goalie, Stephen Melgar (So., Dexter, OR)  had 9 saves on the night for the Beacons. 

This was the final game for both teams as they completed their season tonight. This was Northwest Christian’s inaugural season in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
