Ahrens Leads Beacons Past Corban
CRESWELL, Ore. -- Northwest Christian's Justin Ahrens turned in a 1-over 73 en route to leading the Beacons of Northwest Christian past the Warriors of Corban College, 334-339, in an 18-hole dual match played today at Emerald Valley Golf Course.
Along with Ahrens, NCC's Brent McKee finished second with a 2-over 74 while Corban's top performer was Nicholas Schroeder with a 7-over 79 to finish third individually.
Corban's Steve Landis and Jonathan McGuire carded scores of 12-over 84 and 14-over 86 respectively, while Josh Greenslade rounded out the Warriors' scoring with an 18-over 90.
For Northwest Christian, Josh Samples and Flint Dutell ended the round with scores of 20-over 92 and 23-over 95 to round out the scoring for the Beacons.
The lone individual of the afternoon was Corban's Nathan Furumasu with a 20-over 92 to finish tied for seventh individually with Samples.
Northwest Christian's fall season has concluded, while Corban will finish out its fall season on Saturday, November 3rd, with a dual match against the NAIA's No. 15-ranked Warriors of Lewis-Clark State at Wildhorse Resort & Casino Golf Course in Pendleton.
