KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. --The Oregon Tech women’s soccer team stayed alive for a spot in the Cascade Conference playoffs with a 3-1 win over Cascade. With the win The Lady Owls improve to 3-3 in the Cascade Conference and 7-6-1 overall. The Loss drops Cascade to 3-2-1 in conference play and 7-4-2 on the season.

With temperatures in the 30's and a wind chill factor in the 20’s both teams started slow with a scoreless first half. It didn’t take long for things to heat up in the second half as Cascade scored just two minutes into the second period. Desirae Pina (Empire, CA) volleyed a beautiful cross from teammate Amanda Hassler (Arcata, CA) past a diving Oregon Tech goalie Jaclyn Unruh (Medford, OR).

Oregon Tech quickly answered just 10 minutes later as Katie O’Brien (Jacksonville, OR) tapped in a deflected shot for Techs' first goal. The goal for O’Brien was her 11th of the season. The Hustlin Owls' next goal was picture perfect as Marcy Toro (Klamath Falls, OR) headed in a corner kick from Sarah Brown (Ruch, OR) at the 71:44 mark. The goal was Toro's third of the season and the assist was also the third of the season for Brown. Tech finished up the night’s scoring as Sharon Hernandez (Jacksonville, OR) nailed a 28-yard laser past a surprised Cascade goalie. The goal for Hernandez was her second of the season and came at the 80:39 mark.

Saturday will be the last regular season home game for the Lady Owls and the biggest game of the season. No. 6 Concordia comes in with a 10-2 overall mark and sits in first place in the Cascade Conference with a 6-0 mark after winning at Southern Oregon Friday night 3-0. Concordia dominated Tech last season, winning 10-0. Saturday’s matchup starts at 2 p.m. on Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park in Klamath Falls. Cascade heads to Ashland for a 3 p.m. matchup with Southern Oregon.
