PORTLAND, Ore. -- A penalty kick with 53 seconds left to go in the first over time broke a Warner Pacific and Northwest University 2-2 tie with the Knights coming out on top 3-2.

Rachelle Kliewer scored her second goal of the night with the penalty kick after being fouled in the Eagles box near the end line. Kliewers' first goal came 11:20 into the first half bringing the teams to their first tie of the night after Northwest got on the scoreboard early with a goal at 5:05 by Joanie Hamilton.

Northwest's Brittney Marshall broke the 1-1 tie with an outstanding shot just outside the box over the keepers head and out of reach to the far post giving the Eagles a 2-1 lead going into half time.

The Knights and Eagles became tied once again as Nicole Groskopf tapped one in right in front of the goal and past the keeper off an assist by Erin Russell.

Warner Pacific improves to 7-6, 3-3 CCC while the Eagles fall to 1-9-4, 1-4-2 CCC for the season. Both teams have Friday off then resume conference play on Saturday as the Knights host the Evergreen State College at 3 p.m. and Northwest travels to Corban for a 2 p.m. start time.
