College of Idaho Plays No. 19 Simon Fraser to 0-0 Draw
LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Albertson College of Idaho women's soccer team recorded their first positive decision against a nationally-ranked opponent in the 19-year history of the program this afternoon, as the Lady Yotes played No. 19 ranked Simon Fraser to a 0-0 draw.
The Lady Yotes (7-4-3) saw the Canadian squad record 22 overall shots, including ten on the frame, but the ACI was up to the task. Keeper Sadie Hughes had nine saves, with the team saving another ball off the goal line to keep the Clan (7-2-1) at bay.
It marked the sixth shutout of the season - equaling the team record set in 1993 and 2006, and guaranteed a regular-season mark at the .500 mark or better for just the sixth time and first since 2002.
ACI returns to action next weekend, traveling to Portland, Ore. for matches against No. 6 ranked Concordia and Cascade College.
