BANKS, Ore. – Senior Wade Douglas (Ontario, Ore.) carded a team-low 1-over 73 to help Corban's men's golf team set a school-record with a combined 15-over 303, but the Warriors fell to NCAA Division III member Pacific University by a mere stroke, 302-303, on Saturday at Quail Valley Golf Course.

Douglas tied for medalist honors with Pacific's Sean Hammer and Brian Pan, while fellow senior Ben Sisler (Corvallis, Ore.) and sophomore Nicholas Schroeder (Silverton, Ore.) turned in identical rounds of 4-over 76 for the Warriors. Rounding out the team scoring for Corban was junior Nathan Furumasu (Gladstone, Ore.) with a 6-over 78.

Douglas began his round with back-to-back bogies before turning in a birdie on the 539-yard par 5 third hole. The 6-foot-5 senior put together three straight pars before recording his second birdie of the opening nine on the 386-yard par 4 seventh hole, but made the turn following a disappointing bogey on the 431-yard par 4 ninth hole for a front nine score of 1-over 37. For the remainder of the round, Douglas pared every hole and finished even par (36) on the back nine for his combined 1-over 73.

Freshman Steve Landis (Gladstone, Ore.) and sophomore Jonathan McGuire (Canby, Ore.) competed for Corban, but did not have their scores count as the duo shot identical 19-over 91s.

For Pacific, Hammer, who played as an individual, and Pan turned in season-low totals while Max Bonk, Tim Andrew, and Parrish Evans rounded out the Boxers' scoring with a 3-over 75, a 4-over 76 , and a 6-over 78 respectively.

Corban will return to the links for the second Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament of the season on Monday & Tuesday, October 15th & 16th, at Tri-Mountain Golf Course in Vancouver, Washington.
