Concordia Blanks OIT, 3-0
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- The Concordia University women’s soccer team continued its run through the Cascade Conference with a 3-0 win over Oregon Tech to remain undefeated in Cascade Conference play. With the win Concordia improves to 7-0 in the CCC and 12-2 for the season. The loss drops Oregon Tech to 3-4 in Conference play and 7-7-1 overall.
It took only eight minutes for Concordia to show why they are once again the team to beat in the Cascade Conference. Justine Pronovost (Jr. Milwaukie, OR) scored at the 8:13 mark off a cross from teammate Jessica Ramback (So. Mill Creek, WA) it would be the only goal of the half and the only goal Concordia would need as OIT didn’t managed a shot on goal the entire game. Justine Pronovost added her second goal of the game just two minutes into the second half as she scored unassisted making a run up the right side and chipping the ball over Oregon Tech goalie Jaclyn Unruh (Jr. Medford, OR).
Jessica Ramback finished off Oregon Tech as she put a nice shot into the net off a very nice cross from Caitlin Verhofstadt (Jr. Silverdale, WA) at the 62:26 mark. For the game Concordia dominated Tech with a 19-0 advantage in shots and a 9 -0 advantage in shots on goal. Oregon Tech’s goalie Jaclyn Unruh was credited with six saves, two in the first half and four in the second.
Oregon Tech hits the road for all three of its final games starting next weekend in Salem and Portland against Corban College and Warner Pacific before wrapping up the season at Southern Oregon in Ashland on October 17th. Friday’s game against Corban will begin at 4:00pm and Saturdays match up against Warner Pacific is scheduled for 1:00pm.
