Northwest U. Shuts Out Cascade

KIRKLAND, WA – Northwest University limited Cascade College to 7 shots as they shut out the Thunderbirds, 1-0, in Cascade Conference play tonight. NU ended the game with a 13 to 7 shot advantage. The weather cooperated for the game as the wind and rain that was forecasted for tonight remained off the Washington coast.

Northwest U. (5-7, 4-5 CCC) got it winning goal from senior Trevor Uhler (Bothell, WA) off a pass and assist from the left side of the field from teammate Kyle Veach (Oak Harbor, WA) at the 25:57 mark in the first half. Both teams defenses clamped down in the second half, each allowing only 3 shots. NU Goalie Kyle Wall (Federal Way, WA) had 3 saves on the night for the Eagles

Cascade (4-7, 4-5 CCC) got two saves from goalie, Anthony Trejo, on the night. Tim Danna had two of the Thunderbirds’ shots before leaving the game with an injury after colliding with a Northwest U. player. Play was stopped for about 10 minutes while trainers attended to Danna’s injury.

Northwest U. will travel to Caldwell, Idaho this Saturday to play Albertson College at 3 p.m. Cascade will return home to host The Evergreen State College tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Portland.
