Mountaineers Make Quick Work of Beacons
LA GRANDE, Ore. - After playing 26 matches dating back to the end of August, The Eastern Oregon University Volleyball team will have to sit and wait to find out their post season fate. EOU (16-10,
13-7 CCC) finished out the regular season with a 3-0 win over Northwest Christian College (30-15, 30-23, 30-21).
By not finishing inside the top three in the Cascade Conference Standings Eastern will have to earn an at-large bid to get into the Regional Tournament. The tournament will feature the top three finishers in the Cascade Conference along with the top three in the Frontier. The remaining two spots in the eight team field will be filled over the weekend.
The CCC's best hitter Grace Deboodt added to her league leading Kill total with 15 on 29 attempts for an average of .414. Deboodt has amassed in excess of 80 more Kills than her next closest conference competitor.
Chelsea Herron fueled the Mountaineer offense with 24 assists while Senior Chelsea Lally finished with 19 digs and 6 kills.
Head Coach Kaki McLean had this to say about the possibility of their season being over, "If the season ends tonight our team still has a lot to be proud of. It also means that we have a lot of work to do to get where we want to be on the Conference and Regional levels."
