Knights Pick Off Division II Western Oregon
MONMOUTH, Ore.--No.3 nationally ranked Warner Pacific hit 11 of 27 three point attempts and led nearly from start to finish in defeating Western Oregon 103-85 in a men's basketball game on Saturday night.
The Knight's Scott O'Gallagher led all scorers with 24 points, while WPC's Jalanta Martin added 20. Josh Jackson chipped in 16 for the Knights. Sam Kelly led NCAA II Western Oregon with 20 points, while Brad Krichevsky had 15 points and seven assists for the hosts. Stanley Ratcliff contributed 15 points and six rebounds, and Mike McLaughlin (11) Adonal Arrington (10) were also in double figures.
Warner Pacific took a 11-4 lead just three minutes into the contest and would go on to a 45-37 margin at the break. The Knights would push the Wolves deficit to 17 points four minutes into the second half (60-43), before Western Oregon would go on a run to cut the lead to seven (70-63) with 10:25 to play.
But the Knights answered with a 13-0 run over the next four minutes to pull away for good. They would lead by as many as 25 points in the second half before settling for the 18-point final.
Warner Pacific is now 1-0 for the season and play their next game November 16th versus the University of La Verne.
