OIT Makes it 18 Straight Wins over Southern Oregon
(ASHLAND, OR) Oregon Tech’s lone senior Ryan Fiegi (Medford, OR) scored 24 points had 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in Tech’s non-conference match up win over rival Southern Oregon. The win for OIT was its 18th in a row over Southern Oregon University. With the win the Hustlin’ Owls improve to 4-0 on the season. Southern Oregon drops to 3-3.
Christian Cavanaugh (Mill Valley, CA) had a double – double for Tech, scoring 19 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Joshua Wetzler (Perth, Aus) pulled down 7 rebounds and chipped in 10 points for the Hooters who dominated the boards 44 to 24. OIT shot 53% for the game making 29 of 55 from the floor and 6-17 35% from three point range.
Ryon Pool (Albany, OR) led the Raiders offense with 10 points and was also the leading rebounder for Southern Oregon with 7. The Raiders struggled from the floor shooting 36% for the game, and just 3-13 from three point range.
Oregon Tech will now get ready for Fresno Pacific (3-0) in the first game of the William Jessup Tournament in Rocklin, CA on Friday afternoon November 16, 2007 at 4:00pm.
