SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Cascade Conference co-champions College of Idaho and Southern Oregon lead a trio of CCC teams vying with five others from the Frontier Conference for the NAIA Region I volleyball title this weekend.

The eight-team tournament, hosted by the Spokane Regional Sports Commission, gets underway with pool play Thursday morning here at the Valley HUB.

Also competing for the automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships that goes to the Region I winner are Oregon Tech of the Cascade Conference and Frontier Conference members Lewis-Clark State, Westminster, Montana Tech, University of Great Falls and Rocky Mountain College.

College of Idaho, which has won or shared back-to-back CCC titles, is the top seed after posting a regular season record of 22-7 and a league mark of 19-1. The Yotes' lone CCC loss came to Southern Oregon, which also finished 19-1 and brings a streak of 20 consecutive victories into the Region I tournament. The Red Raiders are the No. 2 seed in the region tournament.

Fellow Cascade Conference member Oregon Tech, which finished third in the CCC with a 15-5 record, is the No. 7 seed.
