Olson Leads EOU Past Walla Walla

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. - The Eastern Oregon University Women's Basketball team improved to 2-0 Tuesday with their 89-51 thrashing of Walla Walla University. It was the second win in two tries versus the Wolves. On October 25th EOU beat WWU 92-37.

Breana Olson led all scorers with 21 points on 7-10 shooting. The junior made 5 of her 6 three point attempts and added 3 rebounds and a game high 4 steals.

As a team Eastern cashed in 13 of their 29 three pointers, com paired to Walla Walla's 2-6. The Mounties also dominated the boards when they did miss, collecting 30 offensive rebounds on their way to out rebounding the Wolves 55-37.

Laura Olsen played a nice all around game scoring 16 points, pulling down 5 rebounds. The senior from Sherman County also had 3 steals in 29 minutes of action.

Elise Hawes and Jenny Fiso finished in double figures with 12 and 11 respectively. Tiffanie Ulmer had 8 points and a team high 8 rebounds.

Just days after turning in her volleyball uniform, 1st Team All-Conference Hitter Grace Deboodt joined the basketball squad. The do it all sophomore had 4 points and 2 rebounds in her debut.

The Mountaineers will return to action on November26 when they travel back to the Walla Walla area. This time to take on Whitman College. That game is scheduled to start at 6:00.
