Trailing by a mere four points (48-44) at halftime after shooting 19-for-36 (52.8%) from the field, Corban watched as the host Wolves turned in a 24-for-40 (60.0%) performance over the final twenty minutes in front on a crowd of 1,125 people that watched Western Oregon win its season-opener by the final margin of 22 points.

Along with Douglas, senior Ben Sisler (Corvallis, Ore.), freshman Clay Martin (Beaverton, Ore.), and senior Hannes Gehring (Lake Oswego, Ore.) chipped in with 17, 14, and 10 points respectively. Grabbing a season-low 21 rebounds as a team, Corban was led by Gehring's team-high six rebounds as well as Martin and Douglas pulling down 3 and 2 rebounds respectively.

For Western Oregon, Sprague High School graduate Travis Kuhns tied with Douglas for the game-high lead with an identical 27 points on 12-for-17 shooting from the field including 3-for-4 at the free throw line. Sam Kelly aided Kuhns' game-high point performance with a perfect 7-for-7 shooting from the field including 4-for-4 from beyond the arc en route to scoring 19 points. Adonel Arrington, Brad Krichevsky, and Stanley Ratcliff also scored in double figures for the Wolves with 18, 12, and 11 points respectively while Mike McLaughlin pulled down a game-high 9 rebounds.

As a team, Corban shot 34-for-66 (51.5%) from the field, including 5-for-19 (26.3%) from beyond the arc and 15-for-19 (78.9%) from the free throw line. On the other hand, the Warriors had an opponent torch the nets for the second straight night as Western Oregon shot 45-for-74 (60.8%) from the field including an 8-for-22 (36.4%) performance from beyond the arc and a 12-for-18 (66.7%) showing at the free throw line.
