Evergreen's Eric Jones Earns NAIA Academic Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced 298 men's and women's cross country runners have been named 2007 Daktronics-NAIA Cross Country Scholar-Athletes, including Eric Jones of Evergreen. A total of 100 schools represented this season led by St. Ambrose ( Iowa ) and Westmont ( Calif. ) with 10 selections each.

Eight other men from Cascade Conference institutions received the honor in addition to Jones.

Jones has been a varsity team member since transferring to Evergreen from Western Washington University in 2006. At the recent NAIA Region I Cross Country Championships, Jones finished 57th overall and second on the team.
