Hogge's Double-Double Carries OIT Past Willamette

ASHLAND, Ore. -- Playing without leading scorer 6’10” Christian Cavanaugh (Mill Valley, CA) who sat out with a knee injury, the Hustlin’ Owls turned to the smallest man in the lineup, 5’8” Jguwon Hogges (Atwater, CA). Hogges scored a career high 24 points and also had a career high 11 rebounds to lift the Owls past Willamette 74-63 in the Championship game of the Flagship Inn Classic being played on the campus of Southern Oregon University. OIT improves to 8-1 on the season and Willamette falls to 2-2.

At halftime Willamette led 39-34, Oregon Tech however started the second half with a 19-2 run and never looked back. Ryan Fiegi (Medford, OR) tied Hogges with 24 points on 10-16 shooting, playing 36 of a possible 40 minutes. Myles Daley (Medford, OR) started for the injured Cavanaugh and finished with 10 points 6 rebounds. Kyler McClary (Hillsboro, OR) led Willamette with 19 points and 7 rebounds in 36 minutes.

Oregon Tech now starts Cascade Collegiate Conference play with road games at The College of Idaho (Formally Albertson) on Friday night November 30th and at Eastern Oregon University on Saturday December 1, 2007.
