Thunderbirds Fall to No. 22 Eastern Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. - Cascade ran into a hot shooting Mountaineer team tonight in a 85-65 loss at the Thunderdome. EOU was particularly good in the first half in hitting for over 63% from the field, while Cascade managed 37%.
The loss drops Cascade to 7-5 overall and 0-2 in CCC play, while the NAIA #22 Mountaineers improved to 8-0 and 3-0.
The good shooting allowed Eastern to forge a 17 point half time advantage. The second period was a much closer contest, but the T-Birds could not overcome a frosty 4-23 shooting from three point range for the game.
Te Awhina Aranui led Cascade with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Amy Russell added 12 points, and Raquel Morin was also in double figures with 11.
Tiffany Ulmer was an unstoppable force for the visitors, pouring in 35 points on 15 of 21 shooting.
Conference play continues tomorrow night as the T-Birds host The College of Idaho.
