Hot-Shooting George Fox Downs Northwest
KIRKLAND, WA - George Fox University (Newberg, Oregon) shot a hot 50% from the floor for the game in defeating the Eagles, 72-51, in a non-conference game tonight in The Pavilion.
Shooting 60% from 2-point range and 57% from the 3-point arc in the first half, George Fox (7-1) took a 42-24 lead into the locker room at halftime. The deeper Bruins took advantage of Northwest's thin bench as they suited up only seven players for the game tonight.
The Eagles (2-9, 1-3) were led by junior Brittany Bowshers' (Issaquah, WA) 17 points while teammate Chelsea Drivstuen (Fr., Monroe, WA) added another 12 for the Eagles. NU shot 35% for the game and 30% from the 3-point line.
George Fox was led by Jamie Hubka who scored 18 points on the night for the Bruins. Katy Campbell scored a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Kaleigha Ramey dropped in 11 on the night. The Bruins held a 35-19 rebounding edge over the Eagles and had 19 total assists for the contest.
The Eagles host Dordt College of Sioux Center, Iowa in an afternoon game in The Pavilion at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
