Lady Owls Roll Past Kwantlen University
Klamath Falls, Oregon (December 7, 2007)---The Oregon Tech women’s basketball team got back on track, as Tech defeated Kwantlen University of Surrey BC, in a lopsided win 73-41 in game two of the Oregon Tech Classic at Danny Miles Court. The Lady Owls move to 5-2 overall with the win while Kwantlen drops to 6-11 on the year.
A tough defense carried Oregon Tech to a 45-17 halftime lead as Tech held Kwantlen to just 15% shooting in the first half as the Eagles made only 4 of 26 field goal attempts. Tech continued the tough defense in the second half winning 73-41.
Cora McVey (Dexter, OR) led the Lady Owls with a double-double scoring 20 and grabbing 13 boards. Crystal Idrogo (Sacramento, CA) added 14 points. Meagan Miyasaka (Honolulu, HI) had 6 points, 6 assists and 2 steals for OIT. Kwantlen was led by Koral Fraser who had 17 points for the Eagles.
Day two of the Oregon Tech Classic will have Kwantlen University playing Southern Oregon University in game one beginning at 3:30 p.m. while Oregon Tech will host Willamette University in game two with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
