Aho Leads Concordia to Title at CCC Event #1
WILDER, Idaho -- Lindsay Aho fired the low round of the two-day tournament to earn medalist honors, helping Concordia University to the team championship at the Cascade Conference Tournament #1 at River Bend Golf Course.
The sophomore from Brush Prairie, Wash., carded a 79 in today's final round, overcoming a three-shot deficit coming in to win. Aho's 54-hole total of 249 (+33) was five shots better than teammate Amy Esmeier, who managed an 87 on a cool damp morning on the 5,970-yard course.
Concordia was the lone full team in the tourney, recording a team score of 1,018. Kim Lindow was third overall at 257 (+41) and Kim Tilton was fourth at 258 (+42).
Albertson College of Idaho had a pair of golfers in the top 10, with Allie Straubhar in eighth and April Patton ninth, with Corban's Liz Sherwin finishing 10th.
The teams will battle again in October, when they tackle Tri-Mountain Golf Club in a tourney hosted by Concordia.
