WILDER, Idaho -- With four golfers in the top 10, Concordia University took home the opening Cascade Conference Tournament at River Bend Golf Course Tuesday.

The Cavaliers shot their second sub-300 team score in a row in today's final round, finishing with a 903 overall (+39), eight shots better than second-place Northwest Nazarene.

CU was led by Tyler Austin, who recorded an even-par 72 to finish the tourney at a two-over 218, good enough for co-medalist honors. Northwest Christian's Justin Ahrens, who had the lead going into the final round, had a chance to win the tourney outright on the final hole, but missed his par putt, settling for a 73 and a share of the title.

NNU's Dale Raybould shot a 73 and finished two strokes back, with Corban's Ben Sisler finishing fourth after a final round 75 -- four shots out of the lead.

In the team race, Corban finished third, 32 shots behind the victors, Northwest Christian was fourth, and Albertson fifth.

The four CCC teams will play three more tournaments - one in the fall and two in the spring, to determine the first-ever CCC champion.
