Northwest U. Defeats OIT for 1st Win
TUKWILA, WA – Northwest University earned its first win of the season as they defeated Oregon Tech tonight, 1-0, at the Starfire Sports Stadium.
Brittney Marshall (Monroe, WA/Snohomish HS) turned a scoreless duel into a 1-0 lead for Northwest U. (1-7-4, 1-2-2 CCC) with her goal at 58:00 into the game when OIT goalie, Jaclyn Unruh dropped an initial save off a shot which Marshall knocked into the net from 4 yards out. NU dominated the shot chart with a 25-10 advantage. Marshall had 5 shots for the Eagles and 4 shots on goal.
OIT (6-5-1, 2-2 CCC) goalie Jaclyn Unruh (Medford, OR/Phoenix HS), did an outstanding job in goal for the Owls as she finished with 14 saves on the night. Beth Narramore (Klamath Falls, OR/Klamath Falls Union HS) had 4 shot attempts on the night including 2 shots on goal.
Northwest U. goalie, Jasmine Yeldon (Tacoma, WA/Centralia CC) had 6 saves on the night for the Eagles.
Northwest U. will host Southern Oregon University at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night at Lake Washington Stadium in Kirkland while Oregon Tech will take on The Evergreen State College in Olympia in a 1:00 p.m. afternoon game.
