Southern Oregon Shuts Out Northwest U.
KIRKLAND, WA – Southern Oregon scored all of their goals in the first half as they defeated Northwest U., 3-0 in Cascade Conference women’s soccer tonight at Lake Washington Stadium.
Morgan Spencer opened scoring for Southern Oregon (7-5-1, 3-2 CCC) with her goal at 5:52 in the first half on an unassisted goal. Spencer then followed her goal up with an assist at 19:13 to teammate Kara Bradach who put the ball into the goal net. Auika Muragin finished the scoring for Southern Oregon as she knocked in a goal from 5 yards out off a free kick from Chesney McHan.
Northwest U. (1-8-4, 1-3-2 CCC) outshot the visiting Raiders, 13 to 4, but the Southern Oregon made good the shots they took. Melanie Hopkins, goal keeper for SOU, had 4 saves on the night.
Northwest now travels for their remaining four games of the season and Southern Oregon returns home to host Concordia on October 5.
