Eastern Falls to SOU in 4
LA GRANDE, Ore. - One night after a terrific performance against Oregon Tech the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers struggled against a very tough Southern Oregon team Saturday night, losing 3-1.
After losing the first game 23-30, The Mounties bounced back and won game two 30-27. In that game Eastern got out to a 7-4 lead and never looked back.
Unfortunately, EOU was unable to recapture the magic they displayed in the second game the rest of the evening. They lost game three 30-17 and the final 30-19.
The Mountaineers were once again led by Grace Deboodt's 17 kills. Alissa Clinton finished with 28 assists while Kiley Cobb wound up with 18 digs on the night.
Head Coach Kaki McLean was hoping for more from her team tonight, "You have to bring it every night in this league." She went on to say, "I know we have what it takes to be good, the girls need to realize it themselves."
Eastern will have to regroup quickly as they host Walla Walla College Monday night before traveling to Portland for matches against Cascade and Warner Pacific.
