LA GRANDE, Ore. - This just in ...Mark Carollo is good.

With the Eastern Oregon men's basketball team struggling to even play with a red hot Evergreen State team the Mounties all-time leading scorer showed everyone how he got that title in a 94-93 shootout victory over the Geoducks.

Carollo played 38 minutes and pored in 43 points. The senior from Hermiston went 16-27 from the field, 3-7 from 3 and 8-12 from the free throw line. He also managed to haul in 10 rebounds on the night. Younger brother Paul also finished with a double double scoring 13 points and pulling down 10 boards of his own. Neil Fryer and Kyle Janke had 11 and 10 points respectively.

Point guards Jeremy Templeton and Nick Finley handed out a total of 15 assists.

Even with all of this EOU needed Finley's free throw with .3 seconds left on the clock to win the game. Evergreen (10-4, 5-3 CCC) Out shot the Mountaineers from the field (58% to 50%), from downtown ( 50% to 37%) and the free throw line ( 66% to 51%) yet somehow Eastern found a way.

The Geoducks were led by CCC leading scorer Nate Menefee's 26.

EOU will face Northwest University tomorrow night at 7:30.
