PORTLAND, Ore - Cascade College outscored Corban 6-1 in the final 54 seconds to slip by the visiting Warriors of Salem by the score of 63-58.

With the score tied at 57-57, Te Awhina Aranui made a free throw and stuck home a putback to boost the T-Birds. Robin Swain hit two crucial free throws and Amy Russell hit one as well to push Cascade to their 3rd CCC win in their last 4 games.

The hotly contested game saw only 3 lead changes, but neither team led by more than 8 points. Corban's Jessica Stiegelman (22 points) was a thorn in Cascade's side most of the night, but a T-Bird box and 1 defense held the high scoring forward to just six after half-time.

Swain came up big again for Cascade (10-7, 3-4 CCC) by playing all but 1 minute, dropping in 23 points and handing out 6 assists. Aranui roamed the paint for 15 points and 16 rebounds. Russell grabbed a season high 12 rebounds and scored 6 as well.

Along with Stiegelman's 23 points, Emily Goette added 8 points and 8 rebounds for Corban (6-11, 2-5 CCC).

Cascade resumes conference play tomorrow night versus Concordia, while Corban heads across town to face Warner Pacific.
