Tech Remains in League Lead With Quick Win Over Geoducks

Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Oregon Tech volleyball team got by tonight with a three set win over The Evergreen State College here at Danny Miles Court 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-9). The win for the Owls was the second over TESC on the season and are currently riding a four match win streak, while improving to 15-3 overall and remain on top of the league standings at 10-1. The Geoducks have now dropped seven in a row, falling to 1-15 overall and 1-10 in CCC play.

A run of seven for the Owls doubled the score at 16-8, propelling Tech to their set one 25-14 win. A four point run, with the score tied at 17-17, gave the Owls a 21-17 lead and enough cushion to pull off a set two win of 25-20. Set three saw the Owls jump up 15-3 before the Geoducks new what happened, and then an ensuing 10-6 run closed out the set and match at 25-9.

The Tech offense was very proficient tonight, attaining a hit percentage of .451 to go with their 6 blocks, versus the Geoduck’s .067 hitting percentage and single block on the night.

Tech outside hitter Krista Wooley (Sr. Reedsport, Ore.) tallied a match high 12 kills and added seven digs, with Megan Christensen (So. Klamath Falls, Ore.) following close behind with 11 kills. Krystie Vea (Jr. Honolulu, HI) came away with a match high 15 digs, while setter Lizzie Law (Sr. Kennewick, Wash.) added 23 assists in the win.

The Geoduck offense was led by Kandice Gleaves and Jessica Dubois who combined for 17 of the teams 26 kills, with nine and eight respectively. Libero Ann Forman led TESC with nine digs.

The Owls will face Northwest University (6-12, 3-8 CCC) in conference play tomorrow, while the Geoducks head to Ashland to take on Southern Oregon. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.
