Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Oregon Tech volleyball team took care of Northwest University for the second time this season, winning this time in Klamath Falls 3-0 (25-16, 25-9, 26-24). Oregon Tech improves their overall mark to 16-3 and remains in 1st place in the CCC standings at 11-1. Northwest University drops to 6-13 overall and 3-9 in the CCC.

Set one saw four ties, the last at 12-12, before the Owls were able to separate from their opponent at 18-14. After an NU timeout, Tech tacked on three more points to pull away and eventually win set one 25-16.

NU took their first and only lead in set two at 1-0 before the Owls jumped out to a 12-3 lead, getting their first 10 point lead of the night at 15-5 and closing set two out at 25-9.

The Eagles did not go quietly in set three and with the set tied at 15-15, a four point NU run gave them a 19-15 lead and would quickly make it 22-18. The Owls however were able to take a 23-22 lead on a 5-0 run, taking all the steam out of the Eagles, and with the set tied at 24-24, Tech would put the final two points on the board for a 26-24 win and a weekend sweep of the Washington schools.

Krista Wooley (Sr. Reedsport, OR) led the Owl attack with a double-double, including a match high 13 kills and 13 digs. Megan Christensen (So. Klamath Falls, OR) followed with a double digit kill total of 10, with Katy Nelson (So. Klamath Falls, OR) and Krystie Vea (Jr. Honolulu, HI) each coming up with nine digs and setter Lizzie Law adding 25 assists.

NU’s Alisha Larion and Lauren Holtz had 7 kills each, with Andrea Cotton coming up with a team high 11 digs.

The Owls will make their biggest road trip of the season when they face both Eastern Oregon (9-2 CCC) and College of Idaho (9-2 CCC) next weekend. Both opponents sit one game behind the Owls in the conference standings.
