BOX SCORE

PORTLAND, Ore. - In a match where neither team was especially sharp, Cascade volleyball team fell in straight sets versus Eastern Oregon tonight in CCC action at the Thunderdome.

It looked as if Cascade (5-13, 1-11 CCC) might give the visting Moutaineers a run as the T-Birds held a 23-22 lead late in set 1. Two Mountie kills sandwiched around a T-Bird hitting error gave the set to the visitors, however.

Set two was played even until EOU (15-5, 10-2 CCC) broke an 8-8 tie and scored 10 of the next 11 points to run away with the frame and win 25-18.

Service errors plagued Cascade in set three, and the T-Birds finished with 10 on the night. With the set tied at 11, the visitors outscored Cascade 14-5 the rest of the way and won 25-16.

Natalie Forgan swung for a match high 10 kills for the T-Birds on the evening, and Katherine Messerschmidt added 6 kills on 12 attacks. Cascade as a team had 27 kills versus 22 errors.
