SALEM, Ore. – Senior goalkeeper Karyn Allen (Merlin, Ore.) concluded her home regular season career with a game-high 11 saves, as Corban's women's soccer team came away with a hard-fought 0-0 tie with the 'Yotes of The College of Idaho Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Both offenses experienced a sluggish start in the first half, as The College of Idaho managed seven shots, only two of which were on goal, compared to Corban’s five total shots as none were on target.

The second half brought better precision on the attack for both teams, as Corban and C of I each tallied three shots on goal with an identical seven shots in the half. However, neither team could break through before the end of regulation.

The College of Idaho dominated the first 10-minute “golden goal” overtime period, managing six shots in the period compared to only one for Corban. However, Allen weathered the onslaught with four saves for the Warriors, including a diving grab with arms outstretched that allowed her to trap the ball inches from the goal line to keep Corban alive as time expired in the period.

The pace slowed in the second overtime, as Corban managed just one shot in the period off the head of sophomore Sheree Kuehl (Seabeck, Wash.) in the 109th minute. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Kuehl's scoring attempt was saved by C of I's keeper Sadie Hughes. The ‘Yotes tallied three shots, but Allen snared two more saves to register her fifth shutout of the season as the match ended in a rare scoreless tie.

For the game, Allen stood between the pipes for all 110 minute en route to registering her game-high in saves compared to Hughes' five saves in goal for the 'Yotes.

At halftime, Allen was honored as Corban’s lone senior. Following her career-high 11 saves in this afternoon’s contest, the senior keeper has now tallied 239 saves in 60 career appearances for the Warriors. With her 13th career shutout, Allen’s career Goals Against Average (GAA) dropped to an impressive 1.43, which ranks No. 1 all-time in Warrior history.

With the tie, Corban’s record moves to 7-6-1 overall, including 4-1-1 in conference action. Meanwhile, The College of Idaho moves to 8-3-2 overall, retaining their second place conference standing by one point over the Warriors with their 4-0-2 CCC record. The Warriors return to action on Friday, October 17th, when they travel to Olympia, Washington to face the Geoducks of The Evergreen State College in a conference match set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
