Concordia Men and Women Sweep Preview Meet Titles

SEATTLE – Concordia’s men and women swept the titles for the Cascade Conference Preview Meet held at Lincoln Park in West Seattle today.
In the men’s 8k, the Cavaliers placed four runners in the top nine with Chris Grever finishing 2
nd (25:58.54), Martin Romero-Clark 3rd (26:01.63), Erik Burck 5th (26:05.26) and teammate Jessy Brown coming in 6th (26:12.60). The Cavaliers took the CCC and the overall meet title ahead of Seattle University, British Columbia and Whatcom CC.
Freshman Seth Bridges from Northwest University won the individual title with his time of 25:53.69 and taking third overall. Whatcom CC’s Josh Simpson won the overall title with his time of 25:30.23. Andrew Schmidt of the Cascade College placed 6th with his time of 26:25.46 and Eric Jones of the Evergreen State College took 7th, running the course in 26:39.66.
Cascade and the Evergreen State College’s men took second and third with total times of 2:20:55.11 and 2:21:32.23 respectively.
In the women’s 5k run, Concordia and the Evergreen State College dominated with ten of their runners finishing in the top 11 places. Northwest U.’s Lindsey Wagner was the only non-Concordia or Evergreen State runner in the top 11 finishing 7th in the field.
Linsie Michels and Andria Scheese of Concordia took 1st and 2nd with their times of 18:09.06 and 18:15.67. Ana Casillas of ESC was third with her time of 18:44.78, Lauren Moran (Concordia) 4th (18:48.53), Emily Uhlig, ESC, 5th (18:53.51), Karissa Carlson also of ESC 6th (18:53.51), Wagner from Northwest in at 7th (18:55.64), Annie Mullen, ESC, 8th at 18:59.55, Samantha Robert (Concordia) 9th (19:10.12) and Alice Taylor also from Concordia in 10th with her time of 19:14.46.
Concordia took the CCC title and the overall meet title with a total time of 1:33:37.84. The Evergreen State College took second (1:35:05.78), Northwest U. fourth (1:40:57.81) and Warner Pacific in fifth with their total time of 1:47:21.03. Also taking part in the meet were teams from Seattle University, Whatcom CC, British Columbia, and Western Washington U.
