Concordia Controls Coyotes with 3-0 Road Win
MERIDIAN, Ore.—Outshooting The College of Idaho 21-to-6 in the contest, the fifth-ranked Concordia women’s soccer team struck for three goals to shutout the Coyotes 3-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action on Friday.
With the win, Concordia improved to 15-0-1 on the year and stayed undefeated in CCC play through eight matches. The College of Idaho dropped to 9-5-2 overall and 5-1-2 in league matchups.
Justine Pronovost connected for her 11th goal of the year in the 23rd minute after receiving the ball from Jessica Ramback. From the left side, Pronovost would sneak the ball into the right post for the game’s opening score.
Just minutes before the end of the half, the Cavs would generate another score with Kaitlyn Tebbs scoring her tenth of the season with rebound shot off of a corner kick in the 42nd minute.
The set play would produce again in the opening moments of the second period with Shea Miller converting with a header after service by Sami Andrews in the 51st minute.
Concordia’s Georgie Christensen tallied three saves for her 12th win of the year in goal. The junior transfer now has six shutouts and has a 0.33 goals against average this season, having only allowed four goals in over 1,000 minutes in front of the net.
The Coyotes’ Sadie Hughes stopped nine shots in the loss.
Concordia continues its road trip by facing Eastern Oregon in La Grande on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. The Coyotes will host Cascade College at 1 p.m. at
Boise Capitals Soccer Complex.
