OBrien, Lewis Lead Tech to 3-1 Win

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Producing her sixth goal of the season, Kelly Lewis put Tech up early, while Katie O’Brien sealed the victory with two more goals, propelling the Owls to a 3-1 win over Warner Pacific tonight at Trevor Derrah Field. Tech started the evening tied with Corban College for 5th place in the conference standings, and with tonight’s win moved closer to securing a home playoff game for the second consecutive season.

OIT went up 1-0 on the Knights early when Kelly Lewis was able to connect off a corner kick from Dacarie Robertson at the 8:40 mark of the first half. Tech then went up 2-0 when Katie O’Brien added another first half goal, this on an assist from Lewis, heading to the half by the same 2-0 lead.

Tech continued to pressure the Knights in the second half, and it would eventually pay off when O’Brien scored her second goal of the game to make it 3-0 Owls. Marcie Toro received credit for the assist on the score when O’Brien knocked in a header on a deflection off the crossbar at the 61:06 mark.

Warner Pacific would eventually get on the board, when Haley Ricker scored on a cross from Riley Murray in the 74th minute, however the Owls would not allow another shot and close out the game 3-1.

The Owls outshot the Knights 10-to-2 and finished with a 6-to-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Oregon Tech will host Corban College on Saturday, October 25th at 2:00 pm in their next to last regular-season home game of the year.
