The Eastern Oregon soccer team (5-10-0, 3-5-0 CCC) scored early and often in their contest against the visiting Thunderbirds from Cascade College (1-13-2, 0-8-1 CCC). The Mountaineers scored three goals, all in the first half, using outstanding ball control and precision passing. The defense was also on point, allowing just two shots on goal all game.

Junior Tennly Paul-Bowden got the scoring started in the 16th minute, with sophomore Lauren Souza registering the assist. Souza would score a goal herself in the 19th minute to put the Mounties out in front 2-0. Finally in the 30th minute sophomore Kami Hernandez scored an unassisted goal, as the teams would play a scoreless second half.

Head coach Jessy Watson was pleased with the team's effort. "We played a good composed and controlled game today," Watson said. "That's what it takes to win games." The team outshot the Thunderbirds 17-4 on the day. Goalie Kalah Minter recorded a clean sheet with two saves, one per half.

Before the game, the team took time to honor their lone senior, Tara Moran. Moran sat out last season due to a knee injury, and was joined by her parents in a pre-game showing of appreciation. The team will next face the Cavaliers of Concordia University on Saturday, October 25th. The game is set to kick off at 3:00 p.m. PST.
