Tourney Berths on Line as CCC Teams Near End of 2008 Regular Season
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Jockeying for berths and seeding positions in the upcoming Cascade Collegiate Conference volleyball and soccer tournaments is continuing for a host of programs still in contention to advance to postseason play.
In women's soccer, all six tournament berths have been determined, but only seeds No. 1 (Concordia) and No. 6 (Corban) are known. Not until Tuesday -- the final day of the regular season -- will seeds 2-5 be known. The opening round of the CCC Tournament gets underway Saturday at campus sites.
In men's soccer, the top two seeds in both the North and South divisions have been determined, but it will come down to the final days before the No. 3 seed in each division is known. In the North, Evergreen can lock down the No. 3 seed with a win or tie Tuesday vs. Northwest; Northwest can secure the No. 3 seed with a win over the Geoducks. The CCC Tournament begins Saturday, as Warner Pacific and Cascade host quarterfinal games.
In volleyball, five of the six tournament berths have been secured. The CCC Tournament will be held Nov. 11, 14 and 15. Two quarterfinal matches will take place Nov. 11 at campus sites; the semifinals and finals will be played at the site of the regular season champion Nov. 14-15.
