LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Mountaineer volleyball team (11-5, 7-2 CCC) played a hotly contested match against the Corban College Warriors. All three games were close throughout, but the Mounties prevailed in straight sets, 25-22, 25-21 and 25-22. The Mounties had solid performances from many of their players.

Freshman standout Jessica Lea tallied a game-high 14 kills, while fellow Prinville, Ore. natives Grace Deboodt and Melanie Ceciliani each had 11 kills of their own. Lea also led the team with 22 set assists, while junior Chelsea Herron had 18 set assists of her own.

"Jessica played very well for us," said Head Coach Kaki McLean. "Our team had a great effort tonight in a very close game. I'm proud of our team because it was a solid all-around performance." Four different Mounties had double digit digs.

The team will look to sweep their weekend series as they face the Concordia University Cavaliers on Saturday, October 4th. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
