C of I Volleyball Sweeps Concordia, Home Streak at 41

CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho volleyball team extended its home court win streak to 41 with a 25-12, 25-21, 25-12 victory over Concordia University on Homecoming Friday in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
Megan Spinks led the Coyotes (10-6, 7-2 CCC) with 12 kills and five digs, while Sarah Buhler added ten kills and three digs.
Set 1 was all C of I, as the Yotes recorded six team blocks and two service aces - forcing the Cavaliers (10-7, 6-3) into 13 attack errors. The Purple and Gold jumped out to 7-0, 14-4, and 19-7 leads in the win.
Set 2 was a see-saw affair, as the teams had seven lead changes. CU held the advantage at 18-16 on a poor set by the Coyotes, but The C of I responded, taking the lead for good at 20-19 on a Spinks kill, part of a 5-0 push to clinch the set.
Set 3 saw the Yotes record 20 kills - including seven by Spinks, to claim the win. The C of I jumped out to a 5-0 lead and were never headed.
Kristin Henning had seven kills, Marcella Hernandez had five kills and six blocks, and Jessie Link added six kills in the win. Naomi Reimer had 18 assists and five digs, while Whitney Owen had a career-high 17 digs.
The Cavs, who had more attack errors (19), than kills (16), got five kills and a pair of blocks from Lindsey Fryer. Skyler Kamaka had 13 assists, with libero Kim Lindow leading CU defensively with 11 digs.
The Yotes return to action tomorrow night, hosting Corban College at 7 p.m.
