LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon Mountaineer soccer team (3-7-0, 1-2-0 CCC) fell to the Hustlin' Owls of the Oregon Institute of Technology 2-1. The Mountaineers were outshot 24-9 in a penalty filled contest. There were a total of 27 fouls called during the game.

The action started off early as Dacarie Robertson scored in the 10th minute as she used the gusty winds to sail one over sophomore keeper Kalah Minter. Fellow sophomores Chelsea Hager and Lauren Souza got the Mounties all square with a goal in the 14th minute that was scored by Hager and assisted by Souza.

The teams would remain deadlocked into the 58th minute when Kelly Lewis scored the final goal of the game on an assist from Brooke Cole. "We played hard in the second half but didn't execute in the first half," said Head Coach Jessy Watson. "We need to execute our training and carry it over into the game. We just couldn't put it together today."

Mountie keeper Kalah Minter registered a game-high eight saves in the contest. The Mountaineers will look to rebound against the Southern Oregon University Raiders on Saturday, October 4th at 3:00 p.m.
