WILDER, Idaho - On a picture perfect day for golf in the Treasure Valley, the Walla Walla Community College men hold the 36-hole lead heading into the final round of the 2008 College of Idaho Invitational at River Bend Golf Course.

The Warriors, one of two junior colleges in the field, shot the two lowest team scores on the day, opening with a 297 (+9) and backing in up with a 298 (+10). They hold an eight stroke lead on Cascade Conference leader, Concordia, heading into the final 18 holes tomorrow.

Justin Ahrens of Northwest Christian leads the individuals with a two-under 142 – including the low round of the day with an opening round 68 on the nearly 7,000-yard track. He holds a three-shot lead on the Cavaliers Mark Arima, who was the medalist in the season opening CCC Tournament three weeks ago – while a trio of players (Joey Duwe of Corban, Brad Bachman of Concordia, and Mike Noreen of WWCC) are four shots back.

In the team race, Northwest Christian is third, followed by Northwest Nazarene, and Treasure Valley CC.

The final round is set to begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
