KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest U. dominated in the shot statistic (20-6), but Southern Oregon got the goal that counted as they shut out NU, 1-0, to win the quarterfinal game of the Cascade Conference playoffs tonight at Lake Washington High School. Southern Oregon advances in the CCC playoffs to take on #2 seed College of Idaho in Caldwell on Wednesday, November 5 on the semifinal.

SOU's Chelsie O'Neill scored the winning goal as a shot came off Northwest's goalie Jordan's Holmes hands and O'Neill put the ball into the goal net at 35:27 of the first half. Northwest had 10 shots to tie the game in the second half but Southern's goalkeeper, Jessica Kuehlwien had a solid effort in goal for the Raiders and had four of her eight saves in the second half to hold the Eagles scoreless and earn the shutout. NU Goalie Holmes had 4 saves on the night.

"It's a hard loss to accept," stated Northwest head coach Erin Redwine, "but we accomplished great things this year and I'm very proud of this team."

Northwest U. finishes with their best record in the three years of the program with an 8-4-2 overall regular season record and a 7-3 conference mark.
