Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Oregon Tech volleyball team advanced to the semifinal round of the Cascade Collegiate Conference playoffs with a decisive 3-0 win over Corban College tonight at Danny Miles Court (25-16, 25-19, 25-17). Oregon Tech improves to 22-6 on the year, while Corban College finishes their season with a 12-14 overall mark.

After the third tie at 5-5 in the first set, Oregon Tech strung together a four point run to lead 9-5. Corban then closed to within two points to make it 10-8, but that was as close as it would get, as the Owls pulled away to win 25-16.

Set two was again tied at 5-5 before the Owls were finally able to get some breathing room with a 16-12 lead. The Warriors then closed the gap to 17-16, but the Owls would eventually gain a five point advantage at 22-17 and go on to win by the final of 25-19.

Set three again started out close with Corban only down one at 4-3. However, it was all Owls after that, as Tech would put together an eight point run to make it 12-3. Tech would eventually gain their first double-digit lead at 15-5 and again at 18-8, looking for a quick set three win. Corban then clawed back into the set, closing to within five points at 21-16. But it was too little to late, as the Owls put away the set and match winning 25-17.

The Oregon Tech offense was led by Anna Leal (Jr. Yreka, CA) and Krista Wooley (Sr. Reedsport, OR) with 12 kills each, followed by Nicole Andrews (Sr. Chehalis, WA), also in double-digits, with 11. Setter Lizzie Law handed out 42 assists and tallied 10 digs, while Krystie Vea came up with a match high 18 digs in the win.

Corban was led by Rachel Gowen (Sr. Oregon City, OR) with 8 kills followed by Rashelle Dvenport (Sr. Kalama, WA) and Teri Braun (So. Dallas, OR) with 6 each. Rebecca Franke (So. Pendleton, OR) had a team high 12 digs, while setter Amy Thompson (Jr. Oregon City, OR) came up with a team high 14 assists for Corban.

After playing their final home match of the season, No. 3 seed Oregon Tech will meet up with No. 2 seed Southern Oregon on Friday, November 14th in Caldwell, Idaho for the first of two CCC semifinal matches beginning at 3:00 p.m. PST.
