PORTLAND, Ore. – Twin sisters Justine and Jackie Pronovost of Concordia University have been voted the Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, the league office announced Wednesday.

For Jackie Pronovost, it is the second straight season in which she has been named the CCC’s Defensive Player of the Year. With Jackie Pronovost anchoring the back line, the Cavaliers have yielded just seven goals and posted 13 shutouts in an 18-0-1 campaign to date. Concordia, ranked fourth nationally, hosts College of Idaho in Beaverton tonight in the CCC tournament championship match. The winner will earn the league’s automatic bid to the NAIA Championships, which begin Nov. 22.

Justine Pronovost ranked third in the CCC in goals (13) and points (32) for the league’s highest-scoring team.

College of Idaho, which finished second to Concordia in the regular season standings, had the Newcomer of the Year in freshman midfielder Chelsea Heffner, and the Coach of the Year in third-year boss Niki Taylor, who has guided the Yotes to an overall record of 12-5-2 entering tonight’s match. Corban College was voted the recipient of the Champion of Character Award, which is based on the NAIA’s core tenets of integrity, respect and sportsmanship.
