CALDWELL, Idaho -- The College of Idaho will host Menlo College of Atherton, Calif., in the 2008 NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round on Saturday in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the Opening Round will be $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and will go on sale 90 minutes prior to the match. Only NAIA passes will be valid.

The No. 19 ranked Lady Yotes (23-7) are one of 12 teams nationally that will host a first-round match - with the winners advancing to join 12 teams that received an opening round bye in Sioux City, Iowa, Dec. 2-6.

The Oaks (20-8) advance to the National Championships for the first time in program history after winning the California Pacific Conference title with a perfect 14-0 record.

It marks the first time that the NAIA has had an Opening Round for the Volleyball Championships - as regional play was eliminated in favor of direct-conference qualification, allowing the Yotes (CCC Tournament champs) and Oaks (CalPac regular season champs) automatic berths.

Other Opening Round matches include St. Thomas (Texas) at No. 13 Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.), Shawnee State (Ohio) at No. 14 Lewis-Clark State, Asbury (Ky.) at No. 15 Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), Indiana Wesleyan at No. 16 Dordt (Iowa), Union (Tenn.) at No. 17 Vanguard (Calif.), No. 18 Indiana Tech at King (Tenn.), Webber International (Fla.) at No. 20 Mobile (Ala.), Bethel (Kan.) at No. 22 Doane (Neb.), Lee (Tenn.) at No. 21 Walsh (Ohio), Wiley (Texas) at No. 25 Lubbock Christian (Texas), and William Penn (Iowa) at Black Hills State (S.D.).
