PORTLAND, Ore.—Behind a career-high 14 points, six rebounds and five assists from sophomore Haley Roth, Concordia defeated cross-town foe Lewis & Clark 60-44 in non-conference women’s basketball action on Saturday.

Roth opened with the first bucket of the game with a layup 35 seconds in and returned down the court by assisting fellow sophomore Danielle Clauson to give CU a quick 4-1 lead.

The Pioneers would respond to take the lead, but the visiting never fall behind by more than two points throughout the half, creating six ties on the court before Roth would finish the period with the final two baskets to give the Cavs a 8-24 lead, The last-minute burst would carry over to out of the break as CU unleashed a 20-4 run to start the second half.

Holding the Pioneers to 28.1 percent shooting in the second half, including an 0-for-10 line from beyond the three-point arc, Concordia outscored the home team 32-20 in the final 20 minutes.
